Part Two, Chapter 1

The narrative jumps forward two years: Alex has been convicted of murder and sentenced to fourteen years in prison, and he's now an inmate of Staja (State Jail) 84F, with the prison number 6655321. The only gossip he's learned about his former droogs is that Georgie has died. In jail, Alex has become quite friendly with the prison chaplain, in large part due to his love of music and his enjoyment of reading the violent stories in the Bible. In the prison chapel one Sunday, the chaplain preaches to the inmates about how they should repent and change their lives. Alex plays on the stereo the music for the hymns...
