Chapter 3 - Cells and Tissues - Review Questions - Page 134: 25

Answer

DNA contains the information required for the synthesis of proteins. It serves as a template from which mRNA is created. Then the mRNA goes to ribosomes, which decodes this information provided by the DNA and synthesizes the proteins from nucleic acids. RNA also helps in this process: rRNA helps in the formation of the ribosomes and tRNA brings amino acids to ribosomes for protein synthesis.
