Objective:
Students will research the main themes of the book and find similar texts.
Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.9-10.7, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.9-10.2
Structure:
To begin this activity, lead students through a Think Pair Share. Have them think for a few seconds about the major themes in How to Be an Antiracist. Then, have them share their list with a partner. Then, have students share with the class. Make a long list on the board. Students will likely say race, connection, history, antiracism, self-reflection, and more.
