Alan Moore is an English writer, novelist, and cartoonist. Watchmen and V for Vendetta are his most popular comic books. Both have been adapted into films, and Watchmen was also adapted into a television show on HBO. Moore started his writing career working in the 1970s for underground magazines in Britain. He later began working for DC comics, specifically writing storylines for Batman and Superman.
Moore’s graphic novels represent his own political views. He identifies as an anarchist and also has a strong interest in magic and the occult. Even though many of his works have been adapted for film, Moore has stated that he intentionally tries to design comics that are un-filmable.
