How are Jack and Ma adjusting to life outside of Room in different ways?

Jack and Ma adjust to life outside of Room very differently. Ma is excited to be free. She has a lot she has to do and figure out, but she relishes taking a shower and eating food that doesn’t have to be rationed. On the other hand, Jack struggles with life outside because it is all new to him. He keeps thinking and saying that he wants to return to the comfort and familiarity of the room. Their experiences are, in some ways, opposites. However, students should note that Ma does seem deeply upset by some things; they're just not at all the same things that upset and confuse Jack.
