Was Ma right to tell Jack the truth about Outside? Why or why not?
Ma tells Jack that the Room is not the world. She reveals not only that many of the people on the TV are real but that she had a whole life and family before Old Nick entered her life, before Room. Some students may argue that Ma was right to tell Jack the truth. He’s five and it’s time. In order to really help Jack grow and prepare him for the escape, Ma has to be honest.
