Students will be able to analyze the relationship between a playwright's life and the writing they produce
Structure:
Create a collective timeline for the class spanning the years of Tennessee's life—either a physical timeline on chart paper or a digital timeline using classroom software. Divide students into two groups. One group should be assigned to research Tennessee's life and work, including both his personal life and his writing life. What are his best-known works? How did he become a playwright? What was his family life like, and where did he live? The second group should research the major historical events...
