    What is the significance of thread in the movie Your Name?

    The red braided thread was so important to the plot line. It was the symbol of fate and an eternal connection of two people holding each end of the thread. Mitsuha's grandmother along with her granddaughters braider those red threads. She believed that is is an art of God. It is an act of Musubi. Taki had the tread tied on his wrist for so long that he forgot how he got that in the first place. But the thread connected him to Mitsuha and Itimori for life. It is because of this connection and his belief in Musubi that he was able to save Itimori and thousands of people.

    Describe the life of Mitsuha in Itimori?

    Mitsuha Miyamizu is a young girl who lives with her grandmother and little sister in a small town in Japan, Itimori. She also has a corrupt father who could not care less about her family. Every day Mitsuha performs the same ritual duty in the family shrine. She has only two friends to hang out with. Disgusted and bored with this monotonous life, she wants a getaway. She wants to live in a great city and reject her origin, and she wants to experience how city life is, how eating in a cafe feels like. However, she only has a vending machine in her small town. Her pain is evident when she says, " Please make me a handsome Tokyo boy in my next life".

    Explain the ending of the movie Your Name.

    When Itimori is saved and Taki and Mitsuha meet for a flash of time, he did not write his name on her hand. All he could write was "I love you". Although they were separated and parted ways, both of them were always searching for something nameless. When they finally get face to face with each other they just knew what was the thing they were both looking for. The movie is about finding your soulmate by going through a difficult journey.
