Throughout the study of When I Was Puerto Rican, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.
In the Day #1 activity "Jíbaro Music," students will use the internet to find jíbaro music and translate the lyrics into English.
In the Day #2 activity "The Political Status of Puerto Rico," students will use the internet to research Puerto Rican political and cultural history.
In the Day #4 activity "Esmeralda on TikTok," students will make videos using the TikTok app role-playing as Esmeralda.
