Describe the role of community in Macún, as witnessed during the hurricane.
Strong responses will notice the community comes together during this hard time. Multiple families pile into Doña Ana’s home, as it is made of cement and the rest of the houses are made of flimsy zinc sheets. Because of all the damage, many people are forced to find extra work, as the government does not provide financial assistance. This situates the helpfulness of the community over the government. The government, with the resources to help, does nothing, while the suffering community uses the limited resources they have to help one another.
