The novel was made into a romantic drama film called Guide in 1965, starring Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman. There is both a Hindi and English version of the movie. Narayan openly criticized the films, and neither of them was used in this Lesson Plan. However, they are widely available and may be utilized in the classroom.
