What creates a sense of tension in The Stranger?
In The Stranger, a sense of tension is created by the setup of Mr. John Hammond’s intense desire to be reunited with his wife (there is the implication that part of his desire is sexual, but teachers may choose to address this or not). But there are delays and delays to them finally having the reunion he’s been longing for.
