Imitating Franklin's Writing Practice

Studetns will be able to apply a rigorous writing method used by the author to gain stronger writing proficiency.

Structure:
Explain to students that they will engage in the instructive and reflective writing exercise that Franklin himself used in order to become "a tolerable English writer."
Aloud as a class, reread the section in Chapter Two wherein Franklin describes the imitative process by which he uses the Spectator to practice his writings. Explain that they will have to employ this same process, using Franklin's own autobiography...
