    Who was Sofi?

    Sofi was an unofficial mayor of her community who brought social and financial revolutions for the people of her society. She married Domigo when she was just eighteen years old. She had four daughters whom she raised as a single parent. She suffered all the hardships alone and bear the burden of her daughters’ deaths. After the deaths of her daughters, she made an organization with the name of ‘Mothers of Martyrs’, where the mothers used to gather and remember their deceased children.

    Why did Sofi exile her husband?

    Sofi exiled her husband because he tried to gamble the land which she inherited from her parents. Sofi’s husband, Domingo was a gambler and he wasted all his money in useless activities. When his youngest daughter was born, he attempted to sell the land of Sofi in the pursuit of gambling. Sofi got to know about it and she exiled Domingo from the form.

    Who was La Loca?

    La Loca was Sofis’ youngest daughter who ascended to the status of saint after her resurrection at the age of three. She woke up at her funeral and reached the top of church roof. The people got astonished when she asserted that she had visited the paradise and hell. She became averse to the society when the folks started worshiping her and she confined herself to her home. She indulged herself in prayers and died at the age of 24 by suffering from AIDS.

    How did Sofi’s daughters die?

    Sofi lost all her daughters in her life and suffered the pangs of separation. Fe died of chemicals while working in factory. She used to work in a bank but in an attempt to make more money, she started doing a job in a factory. The factory applied dangerous chemicals to the machines and Fe died after getting exposed to those chemicals. Esparanza disappeared while working as a journalist and later on the family got the news of her death. Caridad suffered physical violence after living her life as a prostitute and she was found by the side of road in a vulnerable condition. La Loca died twice in her life but it was AIDS which actually took her life.
