Morrison has written eleven novels and countless other essays, nonfiction books, plays, and children’s books. Beloved (1987) and Paradise (1997) are the two other novels completing her Dante-esque trilogy, with Jazz being the second in the series. Other novels by Morrison include: The Bluest Eye (1970), Song of Solomon (1997) and her most recent, God Help the Child (2015). Some of her nonfiction works include: Playing in the Dark: Whiteness and the Literary Imagination (1992), Remember: The Journey to School Integration (2004) and A Mouth Full of Blood: Essays, Speeches, Meditations (2019).
