In this book written by children's author Dr. Seuss, a little boy has big ideas and has a big surprise when his ideas are responded to.
The story begins when a young, unnamed boy is visited by a number of strange creatures, whose defining feature is the fact they have enormous hats in the shape of gloves on their head.
Each of these creatures tells the boy what he should do in a certain situation, while the other hunches tell him otherwise. Overall, this creates a chaotic atmosphere with many disagreements, called "barguing." After the arguing subsides, the boy makes a decision before following the Munch Hunch to lunch.
