Hunches in Bunches Metaphors and Similes

The Hunches

The Hunches themselves are a metaphor for the power of the mind. The hunches are an imagination that delve from the different parts of the mind. For example, the Munch Hunch delves from the part of the brain relating to hunger. The Homework Hunch delves from the part relating to learning and knowledge. The Happy Hunch relates to the part of the brain relating to creativity. All of these hunches represent how the mind works to instruct the individual.

The Super Hunch

The Super Hunch is the most superior hunch of all, and perhaps is metaphor for the concept of heart over the mind. All the other hunches delve from the mind but the Super Hunch delves from the heart. The Super Hunch informs the boy that it is only up to him to choose what he wants to do. Sometimes, the brain needs to be overridden by the heart in order to dictate the best course of action.

The Boy

The boy is a metaphor for the fickleness of human nature. Humans are easily swayed in their decisions and the boy is no different. He tends to follow rather than lead, and leads his mind take him different directions. This is relatable to the reader as they too may have experienced a similar difficulty in making a final decision.
