Protagonist and Antagonist

Protagonist is Lalita. Antagonists are Darcy and Wickham

Major Conflict

Climax

Darcy comes clean about being wrong for what he did to stop Lalita's sister's wedding and he asks her to marry him. She agrees after first rejecting his proposal as he openly displays his willingness to be part of and respect Indian culture through ceremonial dance and drumming.

Foreshadowing

Wickham's lie about Darcy being a bad person foreshadows Darcy needing to overcome another obstacle in his way to Lalita's heart.

Understatement

It is understated that Wickham got Georgina Darcy pregnant in order to inherit her family's money.

Allusions

The film is an allusion to the novel Pride and Prejudice which reveals the harsh nature of what the title implies: one's pride and prejudice which stand in the way of relationship.

Paradox

Lalita doesn't know anything about Wickham, paradoxically she wants to marry him.

Parallelism

Balraj's returning to marry Jaya parallels Darcy discontinuing being a fool and asking for Lalita's hand in marriage.
