Rand as a symbol of heroism
Rand is a courageous and determined character set to put things in order against resistance to ensure that he rules his people. Throughout the series, the bravery and willpower of Rand are unmatched by any other character. For instance, when Rand learns that Colavaere has crowned herself queen, he expels her. Towards the end, Rand courageously faces the Dark One is later crowned as the king and sovereign.
Queen Morgase as an emblem of fear
Queen Morgase is a weak leader who does not have the necessary courage to resist attacks and defend her territory. Seanchan's army attacks, and Morgase and her followers escape seeking safety. The readers expect Morgase to mobilize her troops and face the opposite side, but she fails and opts to escape.
The feminine force
Egwene symbolizes the feminine force and authority. Egwene is depicted as a fearless woman determined to get whatever she wants. Perhaps, the author is definite to show that women can do any job given the opportunity and the support they need to excel. Throughout the series, Egwene rarely fails to accomplish her mission, and she gains a lot of support from those around her.
The symbolism of betrayal
The author figuratively uses the character Colavaere to symbolize treachery. When Rand leaves, he expects to find things as he left them. For instance, Rand expects leadership to be maintained while away in Dumai’s Wells. Paradoxically, when Rand comes back to Cairhien, he discovers that Colavaere has declared herself queen. Therefore, Rand has no alternative but to expel her to the farm.
