A Crown of Swords Irony

A Crown of Swords Irony

The paradox of Colavaere

Colavaere is a paradoxical character who amazes readers with her decision to crown herself queen and later commits suicide. When Rand returns to the land he promised to install Elayne as a leader, he is shocked to find Colavaere as the ruler. Rand gets angry and exiles her to the farm. Satirically, Colavaere decides to commit suicide because she cannot stand the idea of being a farmer.

The conflict between Rand and Perrin

Perrin is scared that Rand will likely free the Aes Sedai held as captives by him. Therefore, there is a fight between Perrin and Rand because Perrin wants to control the prisoners. Ironically, despite these fights, Perrin supports Rand to achieve his objectives. The reader finds it ironic that despite the fights between two people, they support each other to attain set goals.

The irony of Bowl of the Winds

Mat and his colleagues search for the Bowl of Winds during winter. Ironically, the land is hot during winter, and everything is dying. The keepers Dark are responsible for the drying land because the only solution is to deprive them of the Bowl of the Winds. Therefore, Mat and his friends are on a mission to repossess the Bowl from the Keepers' Dark to restore ecological life.

The frightening creature

Forsaken formed the frightening creature to murder Sedai and took control of the Bowl of the Winds. The creature is dangerous and scary. Ironically, Mat courageously uses the medallion to scare the frightening creature and directs the women to take the Bowl.
