Wolf Pack Background

Wolf Pack Background

Edo Van Belkom's Wolf Pack (published in 2004) is the first novel in Belkom's Wolf Pack series. It tells the story of Ranger Garrett Brock, who rescues a litter of wolf pups from incoming fire and brings them home. However, soon after Brock brings the pups home, he realizes that the wolf pups are starting to turn into humans. As Brock later discovers, they are werewolves, allowing them to lead relatively everyday lives outside the woods. The wolves think they are safe until one of them is kidnapped by the evil Dr. Edward Monk. The pups can only save their brother by working together, which they ultimately do, securing their brother's release.

Since its publication nearly 20 years ago, Wolf Pack has never gone out of print. It was a wildly successful novel when it was published; it continues to be successful. The book was a finalist for the prestigious Aurora Award in 2005. A television series based on Belkom's novel premiered on the streaming network Paramount+ in early 2023. Although the series received mixed reviews, it was one of the most-watched streaming series from its premiere until its season finale, reflecting the enduring popularity of Belkom's novel.
