Objective:
To get students to close read the text in order to find repetitive motifs
Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.1, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.5, CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.SL.11-12.4
Structure:
In a brief introductory lecture, describe how repetition is central to the text of Waiting for Godot. Mention that there are several pieces of dialogue, events, and exchanges that repeat multiple times in the text, but do not go into specifics, except to tell students to look for props and specific lines of dialogue that repeat.
