Colson Whitehead is a New York City native. After earning a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University, he began his writing career as a cultural critic for the Village Voice. His first novel, The Intuitionist, was published in 1999. He has published several novels since then, including Zone One, John Henry Days, and Sag Harbor. His latest novel is The Nickel Boys. He has received many awards and acclaim for his novels, including the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, and the MacArthur “Genius” Award. He is also a regular contributor to The New York Times and The New Yorker.
