What is the significance of art in The Truth About Forever and how does it impact Macy?

Wes experienced his own loss, the sad death of his mother, and it is one of the many ways in which he is able to relate to Macy so well. This shared grief allows them to connect with each other and heal together. However, Wes used art as a means of therapy when coping with the grief surrounding the death of his mother. This impacted Macy as her father was going to give her one of Wes' sculptures, and therefore it acts as his parting gift to her, a symbol of love no only from him, but also for the future and what it holds with Wes.
