The Sneetches and Other Stories (originally published in 1961) collects four famous Dr. Seuss stories, including: the title story called "The Sneetches," "The Zax," "Too Many Daves," and "What Was I Scared Of."
In the title story called "The Sneetches," for example, Dr. Seuss tells the story of the eponymous group of people called the Sneetches. At first, it seems that the Sneetches are a great group filled with great creatures. However, there is a tremendous amount of discrimination in the group - the Sneetches with stars discriminate against those who don't have stars.
When it was released, The Sneetches and Other Stories received positive reviews. Kirkus Reviews, for example, loved the book, writing that these "Four stories by Dr. Seuss are not necessarily four times as good as one Dr. Seuss' story- but they are probably four times as good as somebody else's stories."
