Holland March
Holland is a private detective. He is a single parent to his daughter, Holly March. He is also an alcoholic. He screws up everything he touches and nothing seems to go his way. Holland’s relationship with his daughter is very significant to him. When he forgets his Holly’s birthday, Holly isn’t surprised or disappointed. She loves her dad, but she doesn’t expect much from him. Holland is often neglectful of his responsibilities as a father and detective. This character is deeply flawed, which makes for a great comedic relief. Despite all this, he’s very assertive and in synch with his surroundings which makes him a great detective. Holland’s morality is undeniably questionable. He often cheats his clients into paying him to do a job that doesn’t require any investigation. Sometimes he gets the job done but sometimes he plays it off.
Holly March
Holly is Holland March’s daughter. She and her father have a somewhat relaxed relationship where they have more of a friendship than a father-daughter. Holly is super smart, independent of her father’s shortcomings and wise beyond her years. She carries herself more like an adult than a teenage girl. Holly also acts as Holland’s secretary for his private detective business. Holly is more of a parent to her father, Holland than he is to her. She pretty much does everything in the house.
Jackson Healy
Jackson is an enforcer who teams up with Holland to find a missing teenage girl. He has a very troublesome and difficult past. Jackson is initially hired by Amelia to rough up Holland to make him stop looking for her. They soon realize that they are after the same thing and join forces to uncover the truth.
Amelia Kuttner
Amelia is a young woman who is part of a secret plan to expose a major corporation. Amelia and Misty make a film that exposes the executives from the corporation. A hit man has been sent to kill her, so she flees. Holland and Jackson work together to keep Amelia alive. They, however, fail at this mission. Amelia is killed near Holland’s home. It is revealed that it was her mother who sent a hit man after her. Amelia’s mother was also incriminated in the film.
