Every classroom is different, but the stories of deviousness and betrayal in Hellman's play may intrigue many students. These lessons and activities provide many different approaches to the text; select those that best suit the strengths and interests of your own class. Please note that this script makes consistent use of "the n-word," which could prove disruptive or disturbing to students. We strongly suggest that you avoid having non-Black students read the word aloud, and that you have an explicit discussion with the students about the use of the word and their responses to it, as delineated in Day 1's Thought Questions and Day 2's Southern History activity.
