    How has Alexandra changed in this act?

    It seems that Alexandra has begun to realize how cruel her family members can be to each other. Her loyalty, now, is to her father and her aunt, and she asks to get away from everyone else. She doesn't express any trust in her mother or any affection for her uncles in the course of this act. She is listening, sharply, to what her father says and to her aunt's stories of Oscar's ongoing abuse and cruelty. Slowly, her opinion of her family and her role in it is beginning to shift.
