What do you think happened to Drioli at the end of “Skin”?

Some students may say they think Drioli is fine and maybe moved to a different place where he might have an easier time making money. Other students will suggest that the tone of the final paragraphs of the story suggest that Drioli is not fine and is likely dead. These students may debate whether Drioli gave his life willingly (on the chance that he thought he would survive) or not.
