Regeneration
We watch as the fifth element is regenerated by a machine that is capable of re-growing cells in a matter of minutes. The imagery reveals that the technology advancement has increased exponentially in the year 2263.
Unbreakable
Leeloo is behind a glass casing that a scientist says is indestructible. She punches right through it and knocks out the military commander. The imagery shows us that they are dealing with someone/thing that they have never experienced before. Stronger than anything they've experienced.
Taxi
We see Korben driving a taxi as Leeloo falls into his cab. We see that the cars are flying instead of driving on the streets of New York. The imagery shows us that we are witnessing a world that has advanced to the point that there are so many people in the world now that the streets are no longer enough to support the capacity.
Empty
Zorg gets the case which is supposed to contain all four of the stones. As soon as he opens it he closes it and it cuts to Leeloo saying "empty." The imagery shows the connection between Zorg and Leeloo and what is happening in the bigger story of the universe with light and dark.
