The Existence of God
The author strives to prove that God exists but in a different form than the one that’s been known for a long time. Using rationality, Spinoza deduces that the universe is a product of itself and at the center of it is God. God is the point of origin since there cannot be two points of origin. Therefore, God is a unique aspect that defines itself. The author also concludes that if another God form exists, it exists within the pre-existing God and survives attached to it infinitely.
Discovery of Knowledge
In the book, knowledge is discovered in three sequential stages. They work hand in hand to facilitate a rational and factual sense. The lowest stage of knowledge is achieved through perception. This stage of information lacks value therefore it’s inconsistent and inauthentic. The middle stage is achieved through the pursuit of science. The research that is uncovered offers rationality and citable information. The upper and final stage is solely based on scientific Intuition. After mastering the lower and middle stages of knowledge discovery, only then can your Intuition take over as the dominant way of discovery and achievement of transcendence.
Laws of the Universe
The unwritten laws of the universe clearly state that the universe is ruled by rationality and reason acts as the guide to it. All it takes is a leap of faith into believing that life has a purpose and humanity’s sole mission is to achieve that purpose. It’s only by some level of belief that humans can be inspired and influenced beyond their preselected limits. An individual that has transcended views of the universe as a single faction within a singular path.
By the author’s words, the universe is a product of itself with the origin being God. Thus, God is the universe and vice-versa. The laws of the universe that control mankind prevents them from fully grasping the magnitude of the universe. This is however by design as humanity needs to outgrow the urge to fully comprehend its existence since it’s beyond our physical and mental capability.
