The Ethics (Spinoza) Imagery

The Mind and the Body

Spinoza puts forward the concept of the mind and body being the most powerful part of humans. Without the body, the mind is meaningless and vice versa. The mind and the body are not mutually exclusive, and the actions inflicted upon the body are reflected by the mind.

God

God is presented as being one in the very universe/world we live in, rather than being a separate deity that exists from within our reach. Indeed, Spinoza stated “there cannot exist in the universe two or more substances having the same nature or attribute.”God is portrayed in a way we have become used to seeing in literature, as being all-knowing and powerful, “besides God no substance can be granted or conceived.”
