Objective:
Students will write a newspaper article reporting on the novel's plot.
Structure:
For this activity, appropriately enough, students will prepare a newspaper report on the sequence of events that took place during the final chapters of East of Eden. It should be noted that students are expected to incorporate some knowledge of the characters that a reporter wouldn't necessarily have, such as various moments of foreshadowing and symbolism. Students should also incorporate their literary knowledge of the work into their reports.
