Eesher Singh (“Thanda Gosht”)
Eesher Singh is a robber and a killer. He has killed six people in the house where he got into with the purpose of robbery. He himself is killed by Kalwant Kaur in the state of jealousy.
Kalwant Kaur (“Thanda Gosht”)
Kalwant Kaur is a strong woman, but she is too impulsive. She kills Eesher when he says that there was another woman.
Sirajuddin (“Khol Do”)
Sirajuddin is the protagonist of the story; he has witnessed an awful catastrophe and lost his wife to it. He is sure that the wife is dead, as he has seen it with his own eyes, but he has also lost his daughter, and does not know whether she is alive or dead. He looks for her everywhere, and finds at the hospital in the end of the story.
Sakina (“Khol Do”)
Sakina is Sirajuddin's daughter. She is very beautiful girl with a mole on her cheek – the feature which helped the social workers to recognize her.
