One of the main themes in Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda is romance. We follow Simon, who falls in love with Blue. Still, Simon does not know who Blue is and that is difficult for him. The author gives the reader a good picture of the struggles young people face when they fall in love.

This book explores the theme LGBT that is a highly relevant and important theme. This is a tense subject for so many and therefore so important to talk and write about. Many people does not know much about how it is like to grow up gay, lesbian or with another sexual identity than most people. It is important for young adults to read about this theme and get to know the importance of being open and welcoming in our society.
Young Adult
The book is about Simon who is a teenager and who is becoming a young adult. The teenage years is a difficult time period for many, and many struggle with finding themselves during these years. Simon does too. Many teenagers and young adults may relate to Simon Vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and might also learn something from the book.
