Introduction to Peter Pan

Peter Pan is a novel for children, though it has a far greater reach than that, and is a beloved children's classic around the world. It tells the story of the Darling children - Wendy, John, and Michael - who fly with a boy called Peter Pan to Neverland with his fairy, Tinker Bell. Neverland is the world of their imaginations, and there all of their desired adventures await. Peter Pan is a boy who does not grow up, and lives forever in Neverland.

Peter Pan was inspired by J.M. Barrie's friendship with the Llewelyn Davies family. They had five sons, one of whom was named Peter. Barrie made up stories to entertain the children, and he used to tease some of the boys that their brother...
