How is tension created on the journey to Neverland?
Even before the Darling children leave home, we get hints from the narrator that Peter Pan is dangerous, and the adventures that he offers are temptations.
On the flight to Neverland, tension is created firstly because the children are entirely reliant on Peter. He is the one who knows the way (both to Neverland, and back home), he is the one who knows how to get food, and he is also the one who is an expert at flying. Their reliance on him creates more tension when we learn that he periodically forgets them, and leaves them to go off and have his own adventures.
