Both Ruth and Martin study at Harvard University Law School, which is presented in the film. The director adequately sets the scene at the university, including the grand buildings and the large lecture halls. This overall gives an impression of prestige.
The Supreme Court building
The Supreme Court building is seen a number of times in the film, setting the action against a backdrop of legality and tradition. At the end of the film, the real-life Ginsburg is seen walking the steps of the building, which represents the entrance of women into the supreme court.
The 1950s
Overall, the film does a good job of presenting 1950s and 1960s America. This includes the choice of outfits, especially for Ruth herself who wears a lot of typical fashion for the time. This also includes the house furnishings, which are modern for the time but are clearly retro.
