As a pioneer of the cyberpunk genre, Neuromancer holds a good deal of literary clout, and has thus influenced many seminal works of the genre. Snow Crash and The Diamond Age, both by Neal Stephenson, explore similar themes of cyberspace and transhumanism. Neuromancer is, more directly, the first in what's known as Gibson's "Sprawl trilogy," and is followed by Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive.
