Objective:

Students will discuss the lack of adaptations of "Neuromancer."

Structure:

Despite its place in the canon and being among the most seminal works of cyberpunk and science fiction, Neuromancer has only semi-successfully been adapted to other mediums: a graphic novel adaptation only made it through the first two chapters before being discontinued; an opera in the mid-90s was written, but never performed in full; and although several film adaptations have been proposed, as of March 2023, none have been released.
