Introduction to Matilda

Matilda is one of Roald Dahl's most famous novels for children. Published in 1988, it tells the story of child genius Matilda Wormwood, her decidedly un-loving family, and the changes that come into her life when she goes to kindergarten and meets her compassionate, thoughtful teacher Miss Honey and the terrifying headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, also known as "The Trunchbull."
