Adapting for Performance (Day 1)

Objective:
Students will be able to analyze different components of the text by adapting it to a new form
Common Core Standards:
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.5.1, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.5.6, CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.5.6
Structure:
Divide students into small groups (no more than 4 students per group). Each group should discuss one scene—an event in one location, in which several characters speak—that they find particularly interesting or exciting. Students should discuss until their group has settled on one important scene, taking notes on the scene they choose. What makes it exciting? What makes it unique?
