What was Miss Honey's childhood like?
Miss Honey had two loving parents when she was very young, but when her mother died, her abusive aunt moved in, and when her father died, her abusive aunt had full custody of her. Students might notice that Miss Honey doesn't talk very much about specific terrible things her aunt actually did; ask them to consider why that might be. But it's clear that she was miserable throughout her young life.
