Throughout the study of Matilda, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.
All of the writing activities—“School Reports,” “Roald Dahl’s Language,” and “Point of View: Internal Monologues”—would benefit from computer use and internet access to share documents.
On Day 1, “About the Author” requires internet access for research.
On Day 5, “Comparing and Contrasting Adaptations” asks for a movie to be screened.
“Adapting for Performance” on Days 4 & 5 might benefit from filming equipment.
