Throughout the study of Kindred, students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.
In the Day 1 activity, “Understanding the Characters of Kindred,” students will use word-processing software and the Internet to analyze characters.
In the Day 3 activity, “Abolitionist Pamphlet,” students will use word-processing software and Photoshop to create an antislavery brochure.
In the Day 3 activity “Analyzing the Plight of Runaway Slaves,” students will use Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Photoshop to manipulate maps.
