    Jack's Fault

    Objective:

    Students will be able to understand an alternative point of view regarding a character

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.11-12.1

    Structure:

    Throughout the play, Jack is presented as a scoundrel who is constantly devising schemes to avoid work and responsibility. But is Jack at fault for what happens with the will, or is he a victim? Could Jack have done anything different that would have made a difference in getting him money from the will?

    This can be undertaken as a robust classroom debate, with the class split into two sides, each of which will be charged with defending one of the two points...
