Students will practice close reading and make an infographic.

Structure:

This activity is a follow-up to the previous close reading activity. In this activity, students will do a close reading of a passage in the chapter “Caravaggio” and create a flyer.

To begin the activity, have students reiterate the steps to close reading. Students should start with reading the passage twice and annotating. Explain to students that, this time around, they should pay close attention to the author’s purpose, tone, and audience.
