Narrator

A societal expectation is that a woman should only get pregnant if married. Louise lives in San Franco, miles away from her parents' home, Charleston. Louise's parents are not different from society, and they will likely question Louise about her miraculous pregnancy. Louise knows that calling her parents to tell them that she is pregnant is not easy because of the endless questions she is likely to be asked.

"Strange noises, bad vibes, your mom and dad recently passed—your house is haunted, and I'm not selling it until you deal with that."

Mercy

Mark and Louse are working out to sell their parents' house. However, there is a challenge. The house is haunted because strange things are happening. When one enters the house, he hears voices singing strange songs that cannot be understood. The agent in charge of selling the house is scared that it cannot be sold unless Mark and Louise deal with what is haunting it before it is sold.

"While I've been here dealing with Mom and Dad being dead, you don't get to parachute out of your nerd plane and start barking orders."

Louise had been living in San Francisco for several years before finally returning to her home in Charleston to bury her parents. However, when she returns, she finds it hard to make any decision concerning her parents' burial because Mark does not allow her to propose any contribution.
