Section I
Upon learning that his second wife plans to divorce him, Moses Herzog begins a letter writing campaign, sharing his thoughts and frustrations with a wide range of recipients. These recipients range from people in his life, such as his onetime friend Valentine Gersbach, for whom Herzog’s wife has left him, to famous people living and dead.
