Overview: Fundamentals of Theatre

Objective:

To review core concepts and acquaint students with the type of text that they'll be reading.

CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.11-12.1 ; CCSS.ELA-Literacy.SL.11-12.6

Structure:

To begin this activity, the teacher should ask students to brainstorm as many concepts relating to theatre, plays, and drama that they can think of. When a student thinks of a concept, he/she should raise his/her hand for the teacher to call on. He/she can then describe the concept and why it's important. The teacher should take note, on the board, of each idea presented in this way.
